Lynn Firefighters Day

To all Lynn Firefighters past and present, Happy Lynn Firefighters Day.

Lynn Firefighters Day was established by the Lynn City Council following a fire at City Box 41 on February 13, 1895 at Hutchinson Block Hardware on Munroe Street where four Lynn Firefighters made the ultimate sacrifice.

The following Lynn Firefighters died in the line of duty:

Captain Henry L. Skinner

Hoseman Thomas E. Murray

Hoseman John F. Donlan

Hoseman Abraham C. Moody

(All of Engine Company 3)

Captain Skinner was the son of Fireman Daniel C. Skinner who also died in the line of duty in 1888.  Hoseman Moody was the son of the late Chief Engineer A.C. Moody.

Never Forget our Fallen Brothers.
