Passing of Retired District Chief Richard Biagiotti, Father of FF Richard Biagiotti, Ladder 2, Retired.

Richard P. Biagiotti, 91 of Topsfield, died Friday, October 26, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Marilyn C. (Muldoon) who passed away in January, two days before their 65th anniversary. He was born in Concord, NH, the son of the late Pietro and Lena (Cianelli) Biagiotti both of Italy. He grew up in Somerville and then moved to Lynn in 1953 to raise their family.

A Veteran, Richard served as a Navy Corpsman during WW II from April 1945 to November 1946 and then again as a Marine Corpsman during the Korean War from October 1950 to October 1951. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Second Marine Division, Lynn Fire Department Relief Association and a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Lynn.
 

Richard was a graduate of Somerville High School (GED) as he enlisted to serve his country before he graduated. He later obtained an Associates Degree in Business from Chamberlain College and an Associates Degree in Fire Science from North Shore Community College. Richard was the West Lynn District Chief for the Lynn Fire Department from 1978 until his retirement in 1992. He served a total of 38 years with the Department after joining in 1954. He was an avid reader, loved spending time with his family and enjoyed cruising and traveling.
Richard is survived by his four children: Richard Patrick of Tewksbury, Linda Marie and husband Peter Belliveau of Marblehead; Mary Biagiotti and husband Dennis Dietrich of Topsfield; and Teresa Lynne and husband James Lester of Norwalk, CT: six grandchildren Aimee Alcarez (Jason) of Scituate; Sean Belliveau (Therese) of Glasgow, Scotland; Daniel Dietrich of Topsfield; and Amanda, Veronica and Benjamin Lester all of Norwalk, CT: and three great-grandchildren: Jamie and Louis Alcarez and Finn Belliveau.
He was the brother of the late Gloria Bonaccorsi and father-in-law of the late Mary A. Biagiotti of Tewksbury.
 

Service Information: Richard’s funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30AM from the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129) Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30AM in Sacred Heart Church, Lynn. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Friday from 6-9 p.m. Directions and guestbook at www.solimine.com.
